In preparation for the Holidays, in the weeks leading up to December 25th,
(with more images to be added) . . .
these are a few of my favorite things . . .
Driving by the neighborhood of very brightly lit homes:
Lights . . . |
Inflated figures . . . |
And multiple Manger scenes |
Making a gingerbread house with Jose and Daddy:
I must admit, Wegmans makes the best gingerbread |
Bowlfuls of creative goodies |
Wanting so much to eat up the raspberry roof edge |
M & M door. Mom the roofer. |
Making just the right trim pattern |
| |
Concentration | | | | | |
OK, I did the roof. Jose helped me count them out and helped control the number of chocolate chips! |
And I did the chimney. Stale caramels left over from an abandoned Halloween project worked great! |
Jose decorated his tree upstairs. He did all of the decorating, from the garland to the red pine cone ornaments (all near the bottom, because he was sitting down talking to me at the time) |
This is a wedding, believe it or not! Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia (yes, I explained they were brother and sister, didn't matter). "The clear head is her veil, she is holding flowers, and (why of course) he is pointing a gun at her (to show his protection abilities) and the red piece is Luke's gift to her." |
Does this need explaining? That is mistletoe after all! |
| |
Our mistletoe (artificial) kissing ball |
Larry made this stable as a young teenager |
And then there were six. |
Nutcracker pirate boy and fisherman Dad . . . |
| | |
and baking Mom |
School Christmas Show (singing, center - between 2 girls and the snowflakes) |
Some of my (way too many) favorite ornaments |
Partridge |
And a dog wondering why we do the things we do.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Abbey |
