Winter Blasse Reboot

myfitnesspal application

This is not my phone, although this would be a fantastic breakfast and run (jogging)!
This is an example of what the app looks like on a smart phone.  It's FREE!  It is very easy to use as a food (and exercise) journaling tool.  In particular, I like that I can look up foods, even in generic names, and they will show up on the list as the most common products that are actually in any grocery store.  The most common things that I eat will remain on a personal list, making it easy to choose that again on other days.  Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks are all separated within the food diary part.  Then there are the exercise and water consumption sections.
My goal is 1500 calories.  I tried 1200, and just kept going over towards 1500, so I figured that I would stop beating up on myself and just change.  1500 is still a weight loss goal, not maintaining, and not practical if there was more strenuous activity throughout the day, such as one's type of daily work or a more rigorous exercise plan.  There is a chart showing the required daily nutrients that have been consumed and what remains for the day.  For example, if I haven't had enough fiber during the day I can adjust that later around dinner.  What I have found is that the sugar allowance (for me) is only 24 grams!  This can be used up before noon if I am eating junk.  However, it doesn't account for fruit sugars which can add up quickly.  As "Weight Watchers" has been advertising, people should not be counting fruits and vegetables anymore; these are considered free and not in the points system.  So, not sure about my sugar counting.  I am watching where the sugars come from though.
When I used this journaling religiously, I lost 2 lbs each week.  I very much liked being accountable and seeing the nutrients and seeing the unnecessary foods that could be so easily be consumed in a day.  SUGAR has been the downfall.  Let me say it again, cut out, REDUCE SUGAR, and you lose weight and have more energy!  I felt better and more even keeled, with no big lows.  Your body begins to function the way it is meant to.  Keep excess sugars from running through your veins and shutting down your metabolism from using better food nutrients and burning fats that are sitting there around all of your vessels.
After having been away from this (for weeks!?) I am inspired again and passing this app along.
iPhones and other smart phones can access this for free.
Try it, you may like it!

Peace and good health!

The eight faces of Angela

Keep an eye on the second elf from the left.

I'm not exactly sure why this series of shots is so long, but I am glad it is!
